Dear Family,
As I sat down to write my final pastoral note to LLFC, I found myself whispering, “Tear not. ” Yet how can I not be emotional as I reflect on the five Godmazing years we have shared, the journey He has taken us on, and the church He has shaped us to become? Long before we knew this transition was coming, Joshua 1:1–9 was selected for today. I would have chosen the same passage for the final sermon. Isn’t that just like God? Joshua reminds us to be strong and courageous and not turn to the right or left. So perhaps the word is not “tear not, ” but “turn not. ” The season may change. The leader may change. But God has not changed. Keep loving God, loving others, and making disciples. Faye and I love you and thank God for the privilege of growing together with you. Whatever comes next, LLFC, turn not.
